1.  DIAMOND TUFTED HEADBOARD

Old headboard frame & salvaged boards

Egg crate foam mattress topper (Twin sized. Even for a King headboard)

Fabric of choice

Button covering kit (3/4″ buttons) (I used 37 individual buttons)

Regular buttons

Upholstery twine / hemp cord / waxed twine

Gorilla glue

MAKE THIS PROJECT!

2.  Upholstered Headboard

YOU WILL NEED:

2 2x4s at desired height of headboard from the ground to the top

2 2x4s for the width

1 piece of plywood

screws

screwdriver

drill bits

1/2″ thick foam, enough to cover the plywood

batting to cover the plywood and wrap around for stapling

upholstery fabric of your choice, same size as batting or slightly larger

staple gun

3.  Gorgeous DIY Headboard

Upholstery foam (I cut two pieces of 22″ x 30″ x 2″ each)

2 yards of fabric (woven fabric like cotton or linen works best)

Wooden stretcher bars (four 22″ and four 30″ assembled to create two 22″ x 30″ wooden frames)

A staple gun

A drill and a screwdriver

Screws and wall anchors

1″ wood screws

2 yards of inch-wide belt leather

3 yards of leather cord

Scissors
