Today’s DIY project is how to make your own stylish coin purse.  Store your change with these simple but adorable DIY coin purses.

1.  Frame Purse

MATERIALS:

An offcut of fabric

Pattern pieces which you can print out here and here.

Needle and thread

Scissors

Pins

Sewing machine – although it could be done by hand.

8.5cm half round, sew on purse frame.

Interfacing if your fabric is quite thin.

A small piece of plastic canvas to stiffen the base.

Nylon beading thread.

Seed beads.

4.  Sew Macaron Coin Purse

Cover Button, diameter 1 1/2″ (38mm) – 2 pairs

Fabric – Polka-dot, 5 1/2″ x 3″

Fabric – lining, 5 1/2″ x 3″

Fabric – zipper seam binder, 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″

Batting – 4″ x 2″

Zipper – 5″

Card stock (for tracing) – 2 3/4″ circle and 2″ circle

Ribbon – 3/8″ x 2″

Sewing kits

Pencil and/or fabric marker

Wire cutter

Scissors

Tacky Glue / Mod Podge / Fabric glue

5.  Zip-Itself Coin Purse

Zipper (nylon) – 20″, 1pc.

Ribbon (1/2″ or 5/8″)- 20″, 1pc. (Note: you can use grosgrain, woven, satin ribbons, or other alternative materials like lace, ric rac, fabric strip, soft twill tape etc.)

Ribbon – short length for the purse loop.

Lining fabric strip (3/4″) – 20″, 1pc. (optional)

Sewing needles.

Matching threads

Warm iron (optional, use only with lining)
