I looked around for ideas that we can make so our children will still enjoy playing without spending too much.

Here you’ll find some inexpensive DIY toys!

1. DIY PLANTABLE FELT GARDEN BOX

A color variety of felt (purple, orange, green, and red were necessities for me)
Green pipe cleaners
Velcro
Brown paint & paint brush
Brown jersey cotton
Needle & thread/scissors

6 Toilet Paper Roll Tubes
1 Skinny Cardboard Tube (I used the center of a roll of foil)
20 Lids (milk containers, Vitamin waters, Gatorade)
Craft Paint
Foam Brushes
Yarn
Hole Punch or Something to Make a Hole in the Cardboard Tube
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors

5. Crunchy Jellyfish

You’ll Need:

Scrap of fabric for the body (about 22cm x 16cm)*
Scraps of fabric for the tentacles (about 13cm x 15cm for each tentacle)*
Scrap of felt for the heart (about 3cm x 3 cm)
Embroidery thread for the face and heart applique (black for face and red for heart)
Stuffing ( I use polyester stuffing as it’s machine washable)
Ribbon about 1cm wide and 6cm long (for the loop on top)
A piece of crackly plastic
Thread for sewing your jellyfish together
Sewing needle and/or sewing machine
Sharp scissors
Embroidery needle
Chopstick or stuffing stick for turning and stuffing
