DIY Christmas Ornaments

Want a fun Christmas activity to do with the kids?

Make homemade Ornaments!

The best part, only 3 ingredients!!!! 🙂

Here is what you will need:
1 cup salt
1 cup warm water
2 cups flour

Lets get started!
Mix the flour and salt together.
Pour in the warm water and start mixing.  The mixture will get hard to stir so whip out those muscles.  Make sure you mix ALL the flour, salt and water together.
Take out the ball of dough and knead it with your hands to smooth out the mixture.  Now its time to roll.
I tried to roll the dough on the counter without any flour and they stuck! 😉
Lightly cover your working space with flour and roll out dough to desired thickness.
Use cookie cutters or the brim of a drinking glass to cut shapes.  For a whole for sting, use one end of a straw.
Place them on your cookie sheet and bake
Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Depending on how thick your ornaments are will depend on how long you bake them.  You want them hard but not burnt.
Remove and let cool
Now the fun part….PAINT!

I hope your kids have just as much fun as mine did!  This was a perfect project for our 25 Days of Christmas countdown 😀
