DIY Ice Chalk

diyicechalk

Looking for a fun activity to do with the kids on a hot day?  Whip up some ice chalk and let them go to town!  This was so easy to make, just 3 ingredients, and the kids loved it.  I would say do this on the asphalt, as the food dyes last a bit longer than you may like.  Might be kind of fun to play with in the bath tub too!

INGREDIENTS:

Water

Cornstarch

Food Coloring

DIRECTIONS:

Mix up equal parts water and cornstarch.

Pour into ice cube trays or muffin tins.  I used a mini-muffin tin.

Add in the food coloring and stir up.

Freeze overnight.  Remove from tray, with a little warm water on the back if they don’t come right out.  Let the kids go to town!!  Store remaining cubes in freezer.

Note:  May leave your hands colored for a bit, so use rubber gloves if you don’t want your kids hands looking like rainbows.

HAVE FUN!!
