A Few DIY Penny-Wise Christmas Ideas!

I picked up some cheap frames at the second-hand store for $.25 each, but you might have some on hand!
Find some scrap book paper remnants, pretty cards from years past, or even construction paper.
Cut a piece to fit your frame.
Use stickers or your computer to spell a Christmas word (I actually used the empty sheet after the stickers were gone. Just cut out the “outline” from the sticker letter!)
Place each letter on a contrasting paper.
Total Price: about $1.60

Do you have old Christmas ornaments missing the hooks, or maybe they just don’t match? I use these in a tall glass vase, or just set them down for accents.

Another way to shop from your stock pile!  Find some items that pair nicely and you can make a fun gift basket! I got the baskets at the dollar store.  I used a fluffy scarf (also from the dollar store) as a “bow” below!

Have you been getting the ” JoAnn 50% off one item” catalina coupons from Walgreens and Albertsons? I got one with each transaction on Sunday!  I used those to get the shrink wrap bags and photo box for 1/2 price!  The rest of the items were from my stock pile, and many were free at the time I purchased them!  Total cost for each gift box/basket was about $2-$4. (I hope my family is not reading this post!)

“Pamper Her” themed gift box.  I love the photo boxes because them are something that can be used by the gift receiver.  What are you favorite, penny-wise Christmas ideas?

  1. Thanks for these…new ideas always welcome. 🙂 My penny-wise gifts usually either involve personal things like something made with pictures or gifts with clever tags like a bag of Werther’s candies with a note that says, “You’re Werth more than anything in the world to me.”

    Merry Christmas!
