DIY Rust Stain Removal

Do you wash your knives in the dishwasher, which apparently you aren’t supposed to do? I do. And my steak knives are evidence of this. There are some nasty little rust stains on them from letting them dry in the dishwasher.  I was looking at Buzzfeed, and came across an amazingly simple and inexpensive way to remove them with very little effort on your part. The best part of all is that you only need lemon juice! This is so awesome because I always have lemon juice or lemons on hand. Check out this SUPER easy way to remove rust from anything!

First, you get some lemon juice. Then you simply soak your knives for several minutes in the lemon juice and wipe away with a sponge or cloth. If the stains are really bad, you can pour a little table salt onto your cloth to use as an abrasive to help rub away the stains. And if your stain isn’t too terrible, you can also squeeze lemon juice directly onto the rust stain and wipe away with a salted cloth.

You can use lemon juice to get rid of almost any stain on anything! With little variation, you can use lemon juice to get juice and rust stains out of all your clothes! All you need to do is wet the stain on your clothing with lemon juice. Then boil some water in a tea kettle or on the stove.  When the water begins to steam, hold the stained area over the steam for a few minutes. Finally, wash the clothing normally and the stain will be removed! How wonderful is that!? What do you use lemon juice for and what other life saving hacks do use with lemon juice?
