DIY Scents-able Sensible Bars!

I am a HUGE fan of that company that is known for making amazing fragrance bars that burn on a warmer and I buy from them frequently. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that most of my fragrances don’t last for longer than a day or two now. I’m not sure why, but that’s been my experience lately. So, instead of dumping big money every month trying to make my house smell nice, I’ve decided to teach myself how to make my own Scents-able Sensible Bars and I’m going to show you how to do it too!

*Just remember to use a store bought warmer or you’ll lose your warranty with the big brand company.

Here’s what you need:

  • Bar Mold (I bought a few fragrance bars from Dollar Tree, tossed the bars, and used the mold)
  • Fragrance (I used Bath and Body Works Air Freshener Rounds; they smell AMAZING)
  • Soy Wax (you can get it at craft stores or Amazon)
  • Knife
  • Spoon
  • Plate or Bowl full of ice
  • Measuring Cup
  • Microwave

Step 1: Fill a plate or bowl with ice and set aside.

Step 2: Take a few handfuls of soy wax, add it to your measuring cup (use a 2:1 ratio; if you want 1 ounce, add 2 oz solid soy wax to your cup), and place into the microwave.

Step 3: Warm it in 20 second intervals. It may take up to two minutes to fully melt your wax but once it’s clear, it’s ready to work with.

Step 4: Open your Bath and Body Works Air Freshener by pulling back the silver covering. Then, use a knife to cut a slit into the soft plastic.

Step 5: Pour contents of air freshener into your soy wax and stir gently. Set aside.

Step 6: Place empty bar mold on top of the ice. This helps to keep the plastic mold from melting from the heat of the wax.

Step 7: Grab your wax again and slowly pour it into the bar mold. *Sorry, I didn’t add a photo here! It’s hard to pour hot wax and photograph at the same time. Oops!

Step 8: Let sit until wax is fully formed and solid.
