Door Hanger Chore Charts

My son was in need of a better system for his chores/household duties.   When I saw this one, I thought why not, seemed simple enough, and I wouldn’t have to be tallying points all the time.  He can easily keep track himself, and I know whether he has done it or not anyway, so now he has the responsibility of doing it.  If he gets his stuff done by a certain time of day, he gets 3 marbles in his jar.  2 if done before bedtime, and 1 if he has done at least half.  Once he fills up his jar, he will get to go on a date with Mom or Dad.  So far so good!!

I had all my materials on hand, so it was free, but if you don’t, it would be pretty inexpensive to make.

Cut out a long rectangle from a cardboard box.  I cut two, and glued them together to make it a bit stiffer.  Trace a circle where you want it to hang.  Cut it out.  Write to do and done on each side.  I let my son decorate it.  Then write chores/duties on the clothespins and clip to the To do side.  Good luck!!
