Erupting Snow

playsnow
We are halfway through the hottest part of the year here, but with still another month or two of crazy hot weather here, we needed to find a “cool” activity.  This erupting snow recipe was really neat, and so simple!!  It really does feel cool to the touch, maybe because of the aerosol in the can of shaving cream??  Whatever it is, the kids thought it was fun to have “snow” in the middle of the summer.
MATERIALS NEEDED:

Shaving cream
DIRECTIONS:

Add the desired amount of baking soda to a tray or Tupperware container.

Then, slowly mix in shaving cream.  I used about 1 cup of baking soda per kid, and about half the can of shaving foam between the 2 of them.  As you mix in the shaving cream, it will start to make a mold-able “snow”….and it will amazingly feel cold too!!
