Family in Need

Hello DiscountQueens! A family needs our help! A friend of mine, Vanessa, in Loomis, California just told me about the Gorelkin Family. From Vanessa:

They are from Russia and have 10 children ranging from 1-13 years old going to Dry Creek Elementary in Loomis, CA. On Tuesday the Mother of this family passed away. She was 7 months pregnant. The family is very poor and very heartbroken. I feel deep down in my heart that this family truly needs help and I know there is only so much I can do, so I am reaching out to all of you for help. I know money is tight for everyone this year, but if there is any help that you can provide for this family in need it would be truly appreciated. If you would like to send a donation by credit card, you can visit my blog and click on the “donate” button on the right hand side:

or if you would like to send a check, you can make it out to:

Sal Garcia: Principal of Dry Creek Elementary
5529 Myrtle Dr
Loomis, CA 95650

Besides a monetary donation, I thought this might be a good chance for the DiscountQueens to donate any nice free or cheap items we’ve been collecting this year. I’m told this family is in need of everything. Though it’ll be too expensive to send heavy cans of food and items like shampoo through the mail, lighter weight items like new or used clothes, boxed food, juice mixes and treats, bathroom essentials, toys, games, or anything special that might brighten their Christmas is welcome! Here is a list of the children’s genders and ages:

: 13
Female: 12
M: 11
F: 9
M: 8
F: 6
M: 5
F: 4
F: 3

I will be collecting items to send to this family in a big box in time for Christmas. If you have anything to donate, you can drop it by my home at:
2237 East Conner St.
Meridian, ID 83646
(I’m in the Champion Park subdivision off of Eagle and Ustick)

Or you can email at [email protected] or call me at 208-608-0545 and I will pick up items from you! Let’s help brighten this family’s Christmas during their time of need.

Thanks for all your help,

Cherie Hoeger
