“Lumps of Coal”

I found this pin on pinterest, but it was a dead end link.  Darn!  They looked so good!  All it said was that they were like rice krispie treats, but with Oreo cookies…Yum!  I have a weak spot for krispy treats, and I do enjoy an Oreo, so combine them together, and this is what you get, a “lump of coal.”

Makes 12 at $0.29/bar

Family Size package of Oreo cookies ($2.25)

5 cups mini marshmallows or 40 large marshmallows ($0.98)

1/4 cup of butter ($0.25)

These are just like making rice krispie treats.

Grease a small casserole dish.  Melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot on low heat; stirring frequently.

While marshmallows are melting, pulse cookies in a food processor until they are finely crushed.  (You could just crush them in a bag if you don’t have a food processor, or put them in a blender, whichever is easier for you.)

Combine crushed Oreos with the melted marshmallows, and stir until well combined.

Spread into casserole dish, and let cool.

Cut into squares.
