Mel Say’s, “Save Me The Money!” 2/5/12

Pretty easy shopping today.  This is good because I had a little “help” as you can see.  She was the reason for the pile of Ring Pops, and the half-eaten donut with most of  the chocolate licked clean. (Yes I let my child eat candy and donuts for breakfast.  She really wanted to come today, but I don’t often recommend bringing kiddos)

I had to do some quick thinking here.  They were out of St. Joseph’s Aspirin, and the $0.39 Mars candy.

Transaction #1
Buy (1) Wet Synnergy, $10
Use (1) $1/1 Wet Product
I Used my $8 RR from last week.  Because Walgreens Coupon Policy is that you cannot have more mfr. coupons than items, this is where I wanted those $0.39 Mars, which with the $1/2 Mars coupon (01/29/12 RP) would have been free, but given me 3 items and 3 coupons.  If you do find these at your store, use the $1/2 Mars coupon BEFORE the in ad coupon making them $0.39!  This should avoid a *beep*.  We did not…so, we improvised.
Buy 2 Valentine’s Day Ring Pops, 2/$1
Final Price: $2.66
Received a $10 RR for Wet

Transaction #2
Buy (1) Sheets Energy Strips, $3.99
Buy (2) Colgate Total Advanced, 4 oz, 2/$6.00
Use (2) $0.50/1 Colgate Toothpaste, 1/29/12 SS
Buy (4) Valentine’s Day Ring Pops, 2/$1  (This is where I had wanted to get my Aspirin: $2 and prints a $2 RR)
Used $10 RR from above
Final Price: $1.71
received (2) $4 RR for Colgate and Energy Strips

Transaction #3
Buy (1) Wet Synnergy, $10
Use (1) $1/1 Wet Product
Again, I was going to use the Mars Candy here as a free filler due to excess coupons)
Buy 2 Valentine’s Day Ring Pops, 2/$1
Used  (2) $4 RR from above
Final Price: $2.66
Received a $10 RR for Wet

Not bad for $7.03! This would have cost me $43.04, but I had an 84% savings, thanks to sales and coupons!  I have that last $10 Rr for next week!

By the way, have you hesitated to buy free Wet, K-Y etc (even though it is free, do you think, “How can I use more than 1 tube?”)
Check this out!

This is a (lovely) photo of my post-surgery knee with my FREE (K-Y) Gel Ice Pack!  Just squeeze it into zipper baggies and freeze!  I have not tried it with Wet.  this is a bag of (3) k-Y 2 oz tubes ($2.84 at Walmart) that I got free with the $3/1 K-Y, 1/8/12 SS

Now to explain the donut.  I went to Albies to get:
La Banderita Flour Tortillas $0.77 with in-ad coupon (2/5 is the last day!)
However, they were all gone.  When I asked if there might be more in another area, my cashier promptly wrote me a rain check for the sale price!  How great is that?!!
So, Grand total at Albertsons today:
1 Chocolate donut $0.79 (How much do you miss those little free donut coupons from last Summer?)
1 happy, little helper, priceless
1 Raincheck
Final Price:  $0.79+tax
